Dan is the latest addition to the Young Enterprise board

Broadbean MD, Dan McGuire, has joined the Inner East London board of the leading business and enterprise education charity Young Enterprise, where he will help to generate interest in volunteering from workers in the Docklands and East London.

The move comes after McGuire recently joined Levi Roots, creator of Reggae Reggae Sauce and a Dragon's Den success story, to MC at Young Enterprise's Company Programme final at Credit Suisse in Canary Wharf.

Dan McGuire, named Young Entrepreneur of the Year in November by the CBI and Real Business Magazine, has been a keen volunteer with the organisation, which promotes entrepreneurship in young people, since 2005.

McGuire will join several other business people from the area on the East London board, which decide on strategy for the Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham and City of London region.

Young Enterprise Regional Manager, Karen Mangan said, "We are extremely pleased that Dan will be joining the Inner East London Volunteer Board. The Board will be making a huge contribution to the success of Young Enterprise in the region, and having Dan's skills, experience and enthusiasm will be a great asset. The volunteer Board comprises key business and education partners of Young Enterprise with the aim of creating new and exciting opportunities for students and business volunteers. We look forward to working with Dan and the Board to build on our successes so far."

Dan McGuire, who has done a lot of work with young people in the UK and abroad this year said, "Young Enterprise is an organisation very close to my heart and one which I am hugely passionate about. Through my work with YE I intend to massively increase the number of people volunteering their time to teach young people about business and the workplace in the classroom. Business is a hot topic right now and it is our responsibility to motivate and encourage children to create the right opportunities for themselves now, so that they can lead successful lives in the future."

Notes:
Young Enterprise has a variety of programmes on offer to young people across a variety of ages.

The final of The Company Programme, designed for young people between the ages of 15-19, takes place once a year in the Canary Wharf area.

The Company Programme encourages students gain practical experience of business and enterprise through setting up and running their own real company.
